Two thirds of the picnic shelters/camping spaces are gone; only the shelters nearest to the road remain. It doesn't look like there are any plans to add new shelters/restore the old capacity any time soon. Still, smaller and as it may be, it's still Galveston State Park and it was nice to be there!

You can see a few photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54581861@N08/5049403692/Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13908370506327707861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217378365778695802.post-26957967844231743612010-09-26T00:07:54.382-05:002010-09-26T00:07:54.382-05:00What a terrible event. I live in Seattle now.

Thank you for the pictures, I'd appreciate updates next time you are there. I want to see that my island managed to recover.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217378365778695802.post-88917184241349879062008-08-04T10:52:00.000-05:002008-08-04T10:52:00.000-05:00great pics, i'm glad you guys had fun!!great pics, i'm glad you guys had fun!!lauren h.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08832020766300965844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6217378365778695802.post-8955175428876439752008-07-23T18:37:00.000-05:002008-07-23T18:37:00.000-05:00wow. you have been a busy writer! you should e-mai...wow. you have been a busy writer! you should e-mail me everytime the blog is updated - that's what I used to do! I like your thoughts. so easy to get caught up in what I believe and ignore how I communicate it to those around me. we talked about this at small group last night. I think it is hard for christians to serve everyone - no matter what race, religion, sexualty, etc - because we get caught up in the sin they are exhibiting instead of focusing on exhibiting the life of Christ towards them.
